U.S. Envoy To Afghanistan Has Seen War Up Close

Karl Eikenberry, the U.S. ambassador to Afghanistan, is a former Army general who — not too long ago — led the coalition war against the Taliban.

These days, he tries to strike the right balance between force and diplomacy in explaining U.S. policy and actions in Afghanistan.
