Tibetans dispute official claim of no riot deaths (Reuters)

Television footage shows protesters giving themselves up at an unknown location March 20, 2008.<br /><br />The prosecutor's office in Tibet's capital, Lhasa, said 24 people faced charges of 'endangering national security as well as beating, smashing, looting, arson and other grave crimes' in last Friday's riots, the Tibet Daily reported.<br /><br />(Tibet TV via Reuters TV/Reuters)Reuters - Tibetans in China's mountainous southwestern province of Sichuan on Friday disputed the government's claim that nobody was killed in anti-Chinese riots there this week, saying they believed several died.
