Is Sprint Nextel getting ready for a fire sale?

It sure looks that way after speculation about a possible sale or break-up of the beleaguered wireless operator flew around Wall Street Monday.

First, the Wall Street Journal reported that the German phone company Deutsche Telekom was considering buying the failing wireless operator.
