My 2c...

Yes, Skyview has our own list, but we do rely on a lot of the
valuable info that goes out on NNDL/NNADL to keep us updated on
what's going on around us that we might not have otherwise learned.
And those of us in Skyview that are on NNDL/NNADL also occasionally
manage to pass on useful community info, as well. I know there are
also a few NNDL folks on the Skyview list for the same reason.

Shared info, stronger community.

Also, I personally hate clunky online message boards. I prefer the
convenience and control that email affords.

That's why I like Yahoo Groups for this purpose...you have the option
to join the list and either receive individual emails, daily digests,
or no email (and read the archives at your leisure online.) There is
a lot of moderation that is available (if you choose) and a lot of
extra features available like what Bapi recently built (ie. polls,
file storage, calendars, photos, etc...). And it's free and easy to
create.
