Our brains are on the same wavelength today.
I was thinking about the exact same issue after
I read Laura's note.
I was at a presentation on Earth Day where they
talked about CFL bulb disposal. I was surprised
that I didn't know that I should be handling them
differently.
I think the Wikipedia page has it right about
disposal if you are going to throw them out
(double bag them) but a better option sounds
like The Home Depot, which apparently takes
them back for recycling.
