In fairness Sebastian you have been about as neutral as I have on
this issue.

And "its over" is something that you said on October 4 and many times
since.

Now, two months and three postponements and later, I hope, that as of
today, it truly is.

It is strange to me is that you have never said publicly that you
were wrong (or could be wrong) about
the project being over, and about Endeavor's intentions.

Do you believe this project (and the variance request) really were
over on October 4 when they told you so?
Do you think that all subsequent actions - the postponements, the
attempted split in the request, etc.
can all be justified in some way?

If you believed it was over on October 4, why did you write a letter
on December 3 stating the neighborhood's
official position on the variance?

And why did you describe this letter in this way just this morning:

"There is, and always has been, a letter from me to the individual BOA
members stating that the neighborhood opposes this variance request at
this time."

When it was written just last week?

When it was painfully obvious to me that Endeavor was NOT being
honest you were praising them
for their integrity - and invited them to our neighborhood potluck as
an honored guest.

Do you still feel Endeavor has a lot of integrity?

Or do you think that they were being (at least somewhat) deceitful?

I resent the insinuation that the watchdogging of this issue is all
over-reaction and conspiracy theory.

My guess is that had Endeavor succeeded in making people believe that
the variance was in fact over,
and had they not received warnings of opposition, that they would
have showed up and given it a shot.

I do absolutely realize that people have busy schedules and personal
and professional obligations.
But knowing that the voting majority of the neighborhood does not
want the development, I would have
hoped that you would have taken more time to let people know that the
variance request was still very
much active, rather than dismissing it repeatedly.

And that you would have taken the time to forward an e-mail you
received this past Thursday, knowing
that the hearing was on Monday, and that many neighbors including
myself were desperately trying
to find out anything that would inform them of the status of the case.

Had you taken the time to do this it would have saved a lot of hours
of work and preparation.
We would not have had to print and distribute flyers and mobilize
neighbors to come to the meeting
(They all thought the development/variance request really was "over"-
even though it obviously wasn't.)

Maybe you didn't understand that this was happening and the effort it
involved.

I could be wrong, but I can't help but think that you would have been
more likely to forward this notice
if you yourself were opposed to the project and the variance.
