After almost 20 calls today I finally found someone who could tell me
that the tent revival (5117 N. Lamar) does indeed have a permit. FYI:
it's the temporary use permit department (part of the COA building
permit department).

Yes, the tent revival does have a permit. Yes, the real estate broker
who is selling the lot gave permission for the tent revival to be held
on that lot. This is a 6 day event. It begins tomorrow and ends on
Sunday. It's an all day event each of those days, ending at 7pm. I'm
sure they will enjoy the bumper-to-bumper traffic between 4p and 6:30pm

The Fire Department and the COA Transportation Dept have signed off on
it. Curious, since parking must be accounted for and there is no
parking there. The real estate broker did tell me that the tent revival
organizer got a "neighbor" to agree to let folks park. Have not found
which neighbor yet, because neither of the businesses there know
anything about it. SO - I suspect the attendees will be parking on the
streets in the neighborhood.

I'm going to call the permit department gain tomorrow to see if I can
find out who in the transportation department did the "parking"
assessment, and which department approved the portable toilets. I'm
sure the Hilger family is thrilled to have those portable toilets right
up next to their fence.

I wonder if this tent revival could have taken place in Hyde Park,
Rosedale, etc. I doubt it.

Cheers,

Mary
