Wow, I suddenly feel a great deal of sympathy for people who have been complaining that COA code enforcement isn't doing a good job.  A couple of weeks ago I called to complain about huge piles of trash that have been sitting in the street in front of the McDorms on my street for weeks -- the smell was getting bad.  A couple of piles got cleaned up, but most didn't.  In 2 cases, they just moved to stuff from the street to just off the street.  I suspect that Code Enforcement didn't do anything that suggested real consequences, or they would have all been cleaned up.

Now I'm reluctant to call again because of what happened to Jody: call them to complain too much, and it appears that they
get irritated and will start looking for code compliance issues at your house while continuing to ignore the stuff you called about in the first place.  Not sure what can be done about this, but I don't think it's reasonable to leave huge piles of trash lying on or near the street for weeks on end.------------------------------------------------------------------------
