Pro-Tibet vigil held in Beijing as deadline nears (Reuters)

Tibetans throw money as donations towards prayers for those shot dead during a pro-independence protest in Aba County, Sichuan March 16, 2008.<br /><br />The Tibetan Centre for Human Rights and Democracy said the dead were shot by the Chinese People's Armed Police.<br /><br />About 200 Tibetan protesters hurled petrol bombs, burning down a police station, a market and houses in the county in southwest China on Sunday, a police officer said.<br /><br />(TCHRD/Handout/Reuters)Reuters - Ethnic Tibetan students staged a candle-lit vigil in Beijing on Monday, saying it was to pray for the dead, hours before a midnight deadline warning anti-Chinese rioters in the Tibetan capital to surrender.
