[nndl] Thank youMaybe related- I want to thank the neighborhood association officers who have worked so hard on the issue of the redevelopment of Howard's Nursery. I want to thank Jamil and his associates for so clearly presenting their vision for what the property could be. It IS a vision, and it came across clearly in the presentation last night. I thank you for having the patience to explain and re-explain the facts of your proposal to all the neighbors who showed up. I did lots of research before this blew up and made my decision to support the project based on that research; I still very much appreciated hearing your vision in person. I think it's wonderful that so many neighbors turned out last night. I voted to support the Endeavor vision for the site. While it's possible that it's not the only well formed vision out there, it fits very nicely with my personal vision for what could happen in this neighborhood. I'm sorry that it appears to be significantly at risk, and I hope that Endeavor will take into account the closeness of the vote and the lack of time that people had to digest any alternate information to the flyer. I've seen the wonderful, positive changes that redevelopment of this sort can be. It can be tremendously positive for the neighborhood, though sometimes the first steps are scary. I believed Jamil when he said they weren't interested in developing outside of their vision, because it IS a vision. I'm very concerned that we are losing out on that. Regardless of the outcome, my house is firmly committed to maintaining involvement in the NA. We feel badly that we weren't involved before (we were monitoring the e-mail lists, at least), but we're here now.
