Hello everybody. We had an amazing turnout at our meeting tonight --
more than 150 people turned out to decide whether we, as a neighborhood,
should support a compatibility variance for the Parker and Howard's
sites.

I will admit that I was afraid this would be a contentious meeting, but
it wasn't -- everybody was civil and respectful. I am so proud to live
in this neighborhood with so many smart and engaged people.

After a great deal of discussion, we voted, and the results are in:

78 people voted to support the compatibility variance.
79 people voted to oppose the compatibility variance.

The results were counted 4 times by independent and unbiased counters,
with lots of people looking on.

Some people said that they really would like to hear more about the
proposed development, but that, of course, is up to Endeavor to decide.
If they want to come back to the neighborhood and continue dialog with
the neighborhood about this development, we would certainly welcome
that.

For now, however, I will be writing a letter to the City of Austin Board
of Adjustment describing the results of this election. They will
consider this letter at their October 8th hearing to consider Endeavor's
application for a variance.

Again, this has been a heated conversation, and a lot of people have had
their feelings hurt by things that have been said recently. I truly
believe that the emotion displayed has stemmed from a desire to do what
is best for our neighborhood. And I am so proud that when we finally do
come together face-to-face, we can talk with civility and decorum.

Thank you to everybody who has invested so much into this project. What
happens next is entirely up to Endeavor. I hope to hear from Jamil
soon, and when I do, I'll share his thoughts with neighbors.

Good night everybody.

Sincerely,

Sebastian Wren
