Hi Neighbors,
A few weeks ago, I wrote to ask you to "save the date," October 17th, for FixAustin.org's "Road to No Kill Austin" public-policy forum at Austin City Hall featuring national no-kill sheltering expert Nathan Winograd.  The event is now official, and while admission is free, registration is required.

Information about the event is copied below.  To save your spot, please fill out our very short registration form here:  http://fixaustinevents.wufoo.com/forms/the-road-to-no-kill-austin-with-nathan-winograd/.

I hope to see each of you there, and please feel free to ask me any questions you may have.
Best regards,Ryan--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Austin Animal Lovers,

We're delighted to announce that FixAustin.org, the Central Texas Animal Alliance, and Austin Siamese Rescue will be hosting a "Road to No Kill Austin" forum at Austin City Hall from 6pm to 8:30pm on October 17th, 2008.  The event will include remarks from some of Austin's brightest minds in animal welfare, and the keynote presentation will be delivered by national no-kill sheltering expert Nathan Winograd of the No Kill Advocacy Center.

Mr. Winograd and his No Kill Advocacy Center have dramatically reduced shelter killing in communities across the country.  He helped lead San Francisco, California's successful effort to become the first city in America to guarantee a home for all healthy, adoptable animals that entered the city's shelters.  Later, he helped replicate San Francisco's remarkable success in communities like Ithaca, NY, Charlottesville, VA, and Reno, NV.

Admission to the "Road to No Kill Austin" event is absolutely free but a reservation is required.  To reserve your space today, just fill out our simple reservation form here.

The event will also feature a silent auction to raise money for homeless pets, so be sure to remember your checkbook!

Please forward this message to anyone else you know who is interested in reducing the killing of Austin's companion animals.  We look forward to seeing you very soon.

Thanks and best regards,

The FixAustin.org Team
