James,
Since I will be providing the lemonade - you are welcome to use my bike. The more crepe the better for decorating spokes, handlebars and perhaps the riding (& walking) route as well. Bring you bike "enhancers" over to the start spot by 9:45 a in case other biker (or walkers) want to spruce their bikes or outfits.
SteveB, do you need help marking the riding route w/ streamers or flags? If so, James can you give Steve a hand w this?
M

This is by far the coolest thing I have seen listed on this group. I don't have a bike, but I really want to this! My plan is that I am going to stop by the party pig sometime this afternoon and drop $20 or something on some crepe paper. I would love to help anybody that wants to decorate their bike! I also have a weakness for lemon-aide so I will stop by the school, too.

Some frequently asked questions about tomorrow's 4th of July Bike Parade (yes, tomorrow!!) include the following:
Q: Bike parade? What bike parade?!?
A: Please see attached, and join us Friday at 10:00 AM at Little Vine Church at 915 E 52nd (or catch up at 10:30 at Ridgetop Elementary, 5005 Caswell)
Q: Do you have a really snappy looking flyer that describes the when, where, and why?
A: Again, please see attached.
Q: Is this a kids' event or an adult event?
A: Both. There will be two "legs" of the ride. The first leg will be shorter and slower and will be kid-speed. Conveniently, this leg ends at Ridgetop Elementary, where lemonade and play equipment will be available. THEN, some folks will peel off temporarily to ride the second leg, through the North Loop area. We'll return to Ridgetop to join up with the kids again.
Q: I don't have a bike. Now what?
A: Join us anyway for the first leg of the ride. We'll probably be going slow enough for walkers to keep up.
Q: May I bring my feral pig on the ride?
A: Yes, if it can fit in a bike trailer -- or if it knows how to ride a bicycle.
Q: How many hot dogs is it estimated that Americans will consume on the 4th of July?
A: 150 million hot dogs, or almost 1/2 hot dog for every person in the United States. (Thanks, Wikipedia.)
Q: Would it be a good idea to decorate my bike, bring musical intruments, ride a unicycle, dress up in costume, or do other things to encourage approrpriately joyful, celebratory mayhem?
A: Yes. Accountrements aren't necessary, but would add to our wacky, neighborly, patriotic fun.
Q: I really, really have the urge to bring some food to Ridgetop Elementary.
A: It's entirely optional, but that sounds great!
Q: Should I forward this email to others who might be interested?
A: Yes!!
Q: Hey, you didn't answer my question.
A: Please drop Steve a line at 497-8196.
Hope to see y'all tomorrow!
