Sebastian,
Congratulations. What a masterful job you did this evening of managing whatturned out to be a most civil, productive and exemplary meeting of neighborswho care for their neighborhood.
And,I was so heartened to know how many people in the neighborhood are willingto attend and participate. What a lovely surpise. Perhaps, we can become avery viable neighborhood in terms of numbers of participants in the NA process. We are more likely to havea voice with all the various city entitiesif ournumbers grow.
Again, thankyou, Sebastian and Annie, for all your hard work, for howconscientious you are, for your integrity and honesty.
Very well done!

Hello everybody. We had an amazing turnout at our meeting tonight --more than 150 people turned out to decide whether we, as a neighborhood, should support a compatibility variance for the Parker and Howard'ssites.
I will admit that I was afraid this would be a contentious meeting, butit wasn't -- everybody was civil and respectful.I am so proud to livein this neighborhood with so many smart and engaged people.
After a great deal of discussion, we voted, and the results are in:
78 people voted to support the compatibility variance.79 people voted to oppose the compatibility variance.
The results were counted 4 times by independent and unbiased counters, with lots of people looking on.
Some people said that they really would like to hear more about theproposed development, but that, of course, is up to Endeavor to decide. If they want to come back to the neighborhood and continue dialog withthe neighborhood about this development, we would certainly welcomethat.
For now, however, I will be writing a letter to the City of Austin Boardof Adjustment describing the results of this election. They willconsider this letter at their October 8th hearing to consider Endeavor'sapplication for a variance.
Again, this has been a heated conversation, and a lot of people have hadtheir feelings hurt by things that have been said recently.I trulybelieve that the emotion displayed has stemmed from a desire to do whatis best for our neighborhood. And I am so proud that when we finally docome together face-to-face, we can talk with civility and decorum.
Thank you to everybody who has invested so much into this project.Whathappens next is entirely up to Endeavor.I hope to hear from Jamilsoon, and when I do, I'll share his thoughts with neighbors.
Good night everybody.
Sincerely,
Sebastian Wren
