Oy. That Howard's property in its current condition is a real problem
for our neighborhood. Over the past year, there has been repeated
vandalism, I have seen evidence of people camping on the property, and
the police seemed very interested in that property when we had the rash
of break-ins -- they seemed to think it was a good place for criminals
to hide out and stash stolen property.
Just a year ago, I believed that the worst possible future for that
property would be fast-food joints and strip centers. I now believe I
was wrong -- the worst outcome for our neighborhood would be for the
Howard's property to remain in its current state indefinitely.

Howard's nursery
I happened upon your page regarding the vandalism of Howard's Nursery in Austin while I was researching my family history. I wasn't around back when my Grandfather flew and rebuilt planes there and I wish I could buy the property and restore the airplane hanger to what it once was, but like my grandfather, "Doc" Haile, who owned and operated Haile Airport back in the day, the creeps are taking over just like the weeds and rust. It's sad, but inevitable. lisa h
