just got to add my two cents. i too, am
disgusted...with the small-minded responses to this
e-mail. "take me off the nnadl list"?, "offended by
e-mails with the words dildo and vagina in them"? time
for a reality check.
forbidden fruit has been a legit business and a
good neighborhood neighbor for many years. why are you
suddenly running away from the list when a notice for
an event at this business is listed? you don't have to
patronize their shop or promote their agenda, just
because it is acknowledged as existing on the list.
as an adult in the 21st century, you should no
longer be offended by the actual name of the female
sex organ. no demeaning slang or intent was included
in the forbidden fruit post. and, sex toys including
phallic objects have been around since the dawn of
time. please try to control your offended
sensibilities. no pictures or graphic descriptions
were included.
it has been suggested that when you come across a
post that you probably won't have an interest in (eg.
one clearly labeled Forbidden Fruit celebration), you
should skip it or outright delete it. i agree. if i
come across posts that i know will bother or offend
me, i just skip it. if you feel that our list is rife
with offensive material, go ahead and bring it up to
the group. but a single post....."turn the other
cheek."
