Fuego's is quite fantastic -- a short bike ride away up Guadalupe and
across to Lamar. Always empty, excellent service, and remarkable food
-- especially their sea food.
For coffee gathering, I need to put a plug in for Epoch -- further for
people in Ridgetop, but worth the trek. Flightpath is also great and
very convivial. It looks like we're getting ANOTHER coffee joint at
Lamar and Nelray -- a sign is in the window announcing that Ruta Maya is
opening soon. Epoch is near and dear to my heart and home, so I'm
hoping that Ruta Maya doesn't disrupt their business. Hopefully there
is room for both.
Also, for official gathering places for our neighborhoods, might I
recommend Phara's on North Loop? She has a meeting room that can be
reserved, and she can put out trays of finger food. I'm sure she would
happily negotiate a reasonable group rate.
