Greetings.

As many of you already know, last summer I was diagnosed with cancer --
indolent follicular lymphoma to be specific. My little skirmish with
this nasty disease was a bit rough at times (you can read about it on my
website: http://www.sebastianwren.com/cancer.html), but my prognosis now
is very good. I am extremely lucky.

Others, I can tell you from personal experience, are not so lucky. As I
was going through comparatively mild treatments last year, I met many
people who were going through much, much worse.

Cancer is an odd disease -- it is your own body turning against you;
your own cells trying to kill you. Absolutely anybody can get cancer,
and as often as not, we don't know what causes it. In my case, there is
no known cause for lymphoma -- but it is the fastest growing form of
cancer. More and more people are getting it, and we don't know why.

The good news is that we are very close to some amazing cures. Very,
very close. Trust me -- I've been reading about this a lot, and the
prognosis for a lot of cancer patients is about to get a whole lot
better.

But cancer is a tricky disease -- a cure for one form of cancer doesn't
work on other forms -- more work needs to be done.

As a cycling fan, I have always raised money for the Lance Armstrong
Foundation -- now I'm doing it as a cancer survivor. Annie and I rode
in the Lance Armstrong LiveSTRONG ride last year while I was still
suffering the effects of treatments -- we had a blast and we raised over
$700 for cancer research.

This year I'm in better shape -- we have a new tandem -- and we're going
to ride further. We would love to also raise more money than we did
last year.

Please consider making a modest donation to our efforts. We have to
raise money separately (even though we'll be on the same bike), so there
are two links to two accounts -- please give to Annie first. For some
reason it is easier for me to raise funds than her (even though I think
last year was a lot harder on her than on me...).

Annie's account is:

And my account is:

Thank you very, very much.

Cheers.
