Responsibilities
1. Assists library users with locating information resources and checking out
circulating materials; assists users with basic computer, printer, photocopier,
or AV player needs.
2. Answers telephone at information desk; responds to routine information
requests and refers other questions to librarian.
3. Maintains circulation records (manual or online), places holds, and sends
out overdue notices; re-shelves books, journals, and multi-media items; orders
cataloging records and processes new items; performs annual inventory of
library collections; processes donations.
4. Fills
document delivery and inter-library loan requests.
5. Maintains records on volume of library activities and performs other
library-related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Two (2) years of library or
related experience is required. Related college coursework may substitute for
the years of related experience on an equivalent year-for-year basis. College
courses in biomedical or health care subjects; or experience working in a
health sciences library or hospital is preferred.
