All,
Forwarding this call for participants from Austin
Area Research Organization (AARO). The organization's http://www.aaroregion.com/
board is quite a list of area influentials, so it'd be beneficial
- if
this Leadership Academy for Public Service got some perspectives from
neighbohoods and,
- if
neighborhood leaders could bring back and report on the perspectives of
some of these folks and,
- if the
program helped prepare more neighborhood leaders to
gain public office positions (imagine, actually getting paid
for your public work!) More information in the attached flyer.
Nov 9, 16, 23
Thanks.
Cory

Subject: Would you distribute to Austin Neighborhoods Council?
Jim,
We're trying to "get the word out" about this year's Leadership
Academy for
Public Service. This is the program, now in its 9th year, co-sponsored by
AARO and Leadership Austin. It provides real, practical strategies for
conducting a successful election campaign and is particularly focused on
local elections.
I was wondering whether you could share an announcement of the course with
the Austin Neighborhoods Council. No doubt there are some in the ANC
who
are hearing a call to run for elected office.
I could provide a 1-page electronic brochure or hard-copies of the smaller
push cards.
Let me know - thanks. Barbara
