On Tuesday, October 27 at
6 p.m. —

AISD ‘Community Conversation’
To Discuss Draft Strategic PlanThe Austin School District, in
cooperation with Austin Voices for Education and Youth, will host a Community
Conversation on Tuesday, October 27, on a preliminary draft Strategic Plan
for AISD. The Conversation will take place from 6 to 8:30 p.m., at the
Austin Cornerstone Church, located at 1101 Reinli Street.

The Strategic Plan will guide the
District through 2013.

Co-Chairs of the Strategic Plan
Task Force will give a short overview of the strategic planning process.
AISD Superintendent Dr. Meria Carstarphen will discuss the next steps for
finalizing and implementing the plan, and provide an opportunity for questions
and answers. Participants will then work in small discussion groups to
provide detailed input on the preliminary draft Strategic Plan.

Registration and a light dinner
will be held beginning at 6 p.m., and the Community Conversation will begin
at 6:25 p.m. Spanish interpretation services and child care services will
be available.

The preliminary draft Strategic
Plan is also available on AISD website. In addition to the Community Conversation,
citizens may provide input on the preliminary draft Strategic Plan via
