Hi everyone!

With the up-tick in break-ins recently, I just wanted to send out this
important reminder: Don't forget to backup your data!

While most items taken in a break-in are replaceable, the contents of a
computer are getting increasingly more valuable. If you are like me, you
probably have several years worth of pictures and videos stored on your
computer. Regardless of break-ins or not, having only one copy of those digital
items is asking for trouble at some point, whether it be a break-in, fire, or a
failed hard drive.

So, just to get you pointed in the right direction, here are a couple of
articles (the comments provide just as much good info as the articles):
- Geek to Live: Automatically back up your hard drive
(http://lifehacker.com/software/geek-to-live/geek-to-live-automatically-b...)
- Online Backup Final Round, Mozy vs. Carbonite
(http://lifehacker.com/software/lifehacker-faceoff/online-backup-final-ro...)

I've tried the online thing but if you have lots of data it can take forever to
get the data out there and then it would take almost as long to get it back.

I'm currently going with the SyncBack option with two pocket drives that I
rotate back and forth from work.

This obviously won't apply to everyone but hopefully it will provide value to
someone.

Matt
