Clay,

I would very much like to see a group of near-by neighbors solicit and
gather input for a proposal for the future development of the Howard's
Nursery and Parker Beauty Supply sites. It would be great if we did
have a formal plan that we could present to developers and the current
owners of the properties.

Clay, as a nearby neighbor, I think it would be great if you could chair
this committee. Try to solicit ideas for the development of that
property from other nearby neighbors and put a coherent plan together
that we can vote on as a neighborhood. I also encourage you to make use
of the neighborhood plan (as that was used to create the FLUM for our
area).

There is no guarantee that a developer will pay any attention to that
plan, but I can guarantee that land will be developed, and probably soon
(at least the Howard's property -- the Parker property might stay just
like it is) -- so it is still probably worth our time to be proactive in
presenting a vision.

Please act with haste -- with the holidays coming up, it will be hard
for you to organize meetings and arrange times to meet with neighbors.

Good luck, and keep us posted.
