[nndl] Burglary at Ave G & 54th

Just passing along a break-in report from our Watch discussion list...
 
Hi Northfield,
There was a break-in at 5413 Avenue G on Monday around 1 pm. Someone kicked the
front
door in with amazing force. Really, little was stolen that wasn't sitting right
out--a digital
camera, some costume jewelry, and postage stamps. We don't have a flat screen or
any
interesting electronics which explains the light list of items. However, as many
of you know, a
break-in leads to hours of phone calls, cleaning, and repairs to walls, floors,
and doors.

It seems, from talking to the detectives, that this is a pattern in the
neighborhood mid-day,
and I hope that those of us who work at home or are in and out throughout the
day will
watch during the lunch hour for suspicious behavior. The detectives emphasized
that any call
reporting loitering will be taken seriously.
