FYI: Many Hyde Park residents have been emailing for
the past several weeks about a couple going door to
door with a chainsaw calling themselves arborists.
Thefts seemed to occur after they were hired. I am not
clear if there has been an established link or just a
trail of suspicion.

Today I happened to see a white woman and man with a
chainsaw slowly riding bicycles north of 51st on
Avenue G. The man introduced himself as an arborist
and tried to get me to hire him for my neighbor's
tree, no less. This may not be the same couple, but I
am suspicious all the same.

Should an arborist have some sort of certification?

Lisa
