WEDNESDAY NIGHT FILMS
Hosted by Seth Rosson & our very own Kansas who, like Cher and Pele before him, needn't a last name. Generally we would put a Youtube image of the movie trailer, but because of said difficulties, a link must suffice.
We are going to watch the film this week Set in the Australian outback in the late 1800's, The Proposition is the story of the Burns brothers gang, an infamous band of outlaws,
most recently wanted for the brutal murder of the Hopkins family. At the beginning of the film, royal law enforcement officer Captain Stanley has captured two of the brothers. His offer to middle brother Charlie, is that he and his younger (and mentally slower) brother Mikey can go free if Charlie brings him the dead body of his older brother Arthur, who is the leader of the gang, a psychopath, and a true villain. If he fails to do so in nine days, Captain Stanley will hang Mikey from the gallows.
Starring Guy Pearce, Ray Winstone, and Danny Huston, and written by songwriter Nick Cave, The Proposition is a story of loyalty, family, justice, and hard decisions. Like Graham Greene's "The Power and the Glory," only dustier and bloodier. Films will be on Wednesdays at 7:00 at 5619.Airport (nextt to Quality Seafood) |
