Why would hackers target Microsoft directly when there is so much low hanging fruit hanging from the Windows operating system?
The short answer is that hackers won’t attack Microsoft directly because they have plenty of alternatives via third party applications such as QuickTime, RealPlayer and WinZip.

As Halloween fast approaches, Apple is producing more good-natured fun, poking fun at Microsoft’s decision to end the use of Vista as the name of its Windows operating system for PCs.

Opera Software said Thursday it is suing Microsoft in the European Union for abusing its power and tying Internet Explorer to the Windows operating system.
In its complaint, Opera argues that:
“Microsoft is abusing its dominant position by tying its browser, Internet Explorer, to the Windows operating system and by hindering interoperability by not following accepted Web [...]
