A $1 trillion deficit is a good thing (for now)

It was already ominous enough that the U.S. budget deficit nearly tripled to $455 billion in the fiscal year that ended in September.

Now, even conservative projections show that it is on course to explode into the stratosphere, exceeding the $1 trillion mark in the current fiscal year - and most likely, by a wide margin.

A 2 point net jump since yesterday and the first time Obama has lead McCain by such a wide margin. It also represents the first time any candidate has reached the 49% mark in Gallup’s polling.

AMD CEO Hector Ruiz has stepped down and the chipmaker has named chief operating officer Dirk Meyer as its new leader.

The news comes amid the latest financial miss for AMD–a second quarter loss that missed estimates by a wide margin.

According to an AMD statement, Ruiz will become executive chairman.

By a wide margin. With 25% in, Obama has 64% to Hillary’s 34%. So much for Hillary claiming that Obama couldn’t take red states.

So far, no surprises tonight.

They’ll try to spin Massachusetts as a surprise, but it isn’t. Obama was always trailing.
