Downtown Austin Riverwalk to Become Reality

AustinTowers Downtown Condo Blog  Fri, 10/21/2011 - 1:33pm

As Waller Creek winds it way through the East end of downtown from Waterloo Park to Ladybird Lake, it forms a sunken urban river walk very similar to the well-developed tourist attraction in San Antonio.

For years, developers have dreamed of transforming the river walk into a similar (though smaller scale) downtown destination with retail, restaurants, bars, and maybe even a gondola or two.

The problem is flooding: if it were to rain again in Austin, the water would wipe it all away.

Fun Fun Fun Fest 2010: Saturday Kicks Off With A Bang

Austinist  Sat, 11/06/2010 - 2:30pm

Checking in bright and early on Saturday at Fun Fun Fun Fest 2010! Black Congress woke up the Black Stage with interesting electronic back beats overlapped by dueling rhythm guitars and heavily delayed screaming vocals.

As Waterloo Park starts to fill, Jeff the Brotherhood took the Orange Stage.

From Nashville, TN, both guys are ex-Be Your Own Pet members, with a stripped down '70s garage rock sound to get the day rolling.

The duo is playing Mohawk's afterparty tonight around 11pm - free for folks with FFFfest wristbands!
