Google has launched an effort it calls SearchWiki, which allows folks to customize searches and move results.

An example: Say you disagree with a ranking of a result. You can move it up. You can also add notes to the result.

And you can also remove results.

HP unveils multi-touch consumer laptop

Hewlett-Packard on Wednesday launched its first multi-touch notebook for consumers. The TouchSmart tx2 Notebook PC was modeled after HP’s desktop version of the same name (statement, Techmeme).

The move ups the ante in the notebook race–assuming you think multi-touch is important.



 

My bad Yahoo morning

Yahoo’s performance seems spotty this morning. I’m getting hang-ups with Yahoo Finance, Fantasy Sports and Mail.

The hang-up appears to be the connection to Akamai (right). I’m still investigating, but here’s what I’m seeing.

Every other site seems to work just fine. Despite all of Yahoo’s corporate troubles I still rely heavily on its services.
