Miscalcultaion means less financial aid for students

Hundreds of UT undergraduate students did not receive need-based financial aid this fall because of a $3.2 million miscalculation by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, said Tom Melecki, director of UT’s student financial services.

The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board recently released recommendations that would change the way higher education institutions across the state approach the core curriculum.

UT submitted an institutional response to the coordinating board last week, and students submitted an additional response Monday, the last day for public commentary on the recommendations.



 

Grants to improve college readiness, developmental education
