Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker says he'll issue layoff notices to state workers Friday if no Democratic state senators return to vote on his proposal to balance the state's budget.

The bill would make state workers pay more for their benefits, and it would take away most of their collective bargaining rights.

The bill has sparked weeks of protests.

 This bill would allow counties to choose from a menu of fees and taxes to fund transportation projects as they see fit.

 Options would include imposing a local gas tax or raising vehicle registration or driver's license renewal fees.
