Mass. Man Savors Court Victory Over Parking Ticket

In 2009, Michael D. Rivers parked at a meter in Springfield, Mass., and received a $25 parking ticket. Rivers said he put 50 cents in the meter, which was broken.

He chose to fight it in court, representing himself. Two years and hundreds of dollars in filing fees later, a judge threw out the ticket.

Obama, Brown Consider Basketball Game Offer

The birthplace of basketball has proposed a political rematch. The mayor of Springfield, Mass., says he wants to set up a basketball game: On one side would be President Obama and the other side would be Sen.

Scott Brown. His recent election cost the Democrats a key vote in Congress. The president's office says it's studying the invitation.

Brown contends he's ready to play.
