Move Over Delta, Southwest To Fly Out Of Atlanta

Atlanta is not only the biggest airport in the world, it's also hometown to Delta Air Lines. Southwest will begin serving the city next month, and some remain skeptical of its ability to win over passengers, but others welcome the competition in hopes that it'll drive down airfares.

Republic Airways Buys Bankrupt Frontier Airlines

Republic Airways clinched the deal Thursday to buy bankrupt carrier Frontier Airlines, winning a bidding war with Southwest for the discount carrier.

Republic, an airline holding company that operates several regional airlines, says it will pay about $109 million for 100 percent of Frontier's stock.

First Texas Cardinal pledges to be strong voice for region
