Court rules MySpace-based evidence okay in murder trial

HOUSTON — The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals ruled Wednesday an accused killer’s MySpace pages were properly used as evidence by prosecutors to help convince a jury to convict the Dallas-area street gang member of murder.

Ronnie Tienda Jr. appealed his conviction and 35-year prison term for the slaying of 23-year-old David Valadez in a 2007 shootout on a Dallas freeway.

The gang unit is investigating the incident after discovering video of the assault which was posted on a social networking site.

Twitter Expected To Get Major Investor Financing

Twitter is close to getting as much as $100 million of new capital from a group of investors. The Wall Street Journal reports the new capital will come from mutual fund giant T.

Rowe Price, private equity firm Insight Venture Partners and five other investors. The funding will value the fast-growing social networking site at about $1 billion.
