Father: Army Ignored Complaints Of Afghan Slayings

Army Spc. Adam Winfield's father says he tried to alert Army authorities to his son's concerns about his platoon leader's actions in Afghanistan.

That platoon leader, Staff Sgt. Calvin Gibbs, and other soldiers, including Winfield, have been charged with killing Afghan civilians.

Suspect Killed In Police Officers Slayings In Wash.

The man suspected gunning down four police officers in a coffee shop Sunday was shot and killed by a Seattle police officer early Tuesday morning.

Authorities say Maurice Clemmons, 37, was spotted in a stolen vehicle on a Seattle street. The police officer recognized Clemmons and ordered him to show his hands and stop.

Authorities say Clemmons wouldn't stop, and the officer fired several rounds.
