Port Authority Cops: Recovering From Sept. 11

On Sept. 11, 2001, New York's Port Authority Police Department lost 37 of its officers — the largest loss suffered by any police department in U.S. history.

Two former officers paid Ground Zero a visit this week, and talked about the effort to recover.

This 9-11, Obama has the bullhorn on terrorism (AP)

AP - On Sept. 11, 2001, Barack Obama was driving to a state legislative hearing in Chicago when he heard the first sketchy reports of a plane hitting the World Trade Center on his car radio.

The 40-year-old state senator spent the afternoon in his law office watching "nightmare images" of destruction and grief unfold on TV.



 

Critics Say Saudi Textbooks Still Encourage Violence

Since the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, textbooks used in Saudi Arabian schools have been criticized for teaching religious intolerance that can lead to violence.

Now, the country is revising textbooks and reforming education. Critics wonder if those efforts go far enough.
