Psych Fest Moves To Seaholm Power Plant, Announces Lineup Additions In a move that should pierce through the onslaught of SXSW news this week, The Reverberation Appreciation Society and The Black Angels have announced that the fourth installment of the Austin Psych Fest has moved from the Mexitas Event Center to the legendary Seaholm Power Plant April 29-May 1.

Seaholm Development Update

More than 2 years ago, the city approved a master plan for the redevelopment of the Seaholm Power Plant site on Cesar Chavez near Lamar.

The $117.2 million project, a partnership between the city and Southwest Strategies, is supposed to result in a 22-story hotel, 60 condo units, and 180,000 square feet of retail and commercial space.



 

Snoop Dogg coming to SXSW for Perez party

That’s right. Perez Hilton has just announced that the Doggfather will be playing his party on Saturday at a warehouse at 3rd and Brazos Streets.

Rumors were also rampant that Snoop Dogg will make a stop at MTV’s soundstage at the former Seaholm Power Plant and perform with Gorillaz, who will be headlining at Coachella next month.

Snoop is a guest on Gorillaz new album “Plastic Beach.” Phone calls to MTV were not returned Monday.

Earlier today, Perez confirmed that Marina and the Diamonds and Alphabeat are also playing his party, which is sponsored by Swagg.

WOXY.com + Broken Social Scene + Seaholm Power Plant = ACL after...

The folks at WOXY.com, the formerly Ohio-based internet radio station now sharing digs with ME-TV, will host Canadian indie rockers Broken Social Scene at the Seaholm Power Plant 10 p.m.

Oct. 2. It is co-sponsored by Rare Magazine.

Three hundred people will be let into the plant for the show, which recalls Big Black’s final performance at the Georgetown Steamplant in Seattle.

(Something tells me this one will be less noisy.)



 

Breaking: WOXY to Host Broken Social Scene @ ACL Afterparty

WOXY has announced their ACL afterparty taking place Friday, October 2 at the Seaholm Power Plant on Cesar Chavez.

The recently transplanted internet radio station will present Broken Social Scene to the 300-capacity venue at 10 pm, free.
