Starhawk the “spiritual successor” (read: space sequel) to the 2007 action game Warhawk has been confirmed in development for a release in the first quarter of 2012.

Headed by the Austin developers LightBox in coordination with Sony’s Santa Monica team, the game marks the first good news for Sony since March.

A producer of the Academy Award winning documentary The Cove helped set up a sting at a hip sushi restaurant in Santa Monica, Calif.

The restaurant and the chef have been charged with serving illegal and endangered whale meat.

J. Fitzgerald Kelly grows 190 different kinds of stone fruit. At his Santa Monica fruit stand, you can find the Flavorella aprium and the Flavorosa pluot, both crosses of plums and apricots.

He's also created a plum and white nectarine mix called Mr. McNulty.
