Gas Prices Jump Across Texas

The pinch at the pump is getting more painful. Gas prices throughout the state jumped an average of 13 cents in the past week.

According to AAA’s daily fuel gauge report, prices are up an average of 12 cents in the Austin and San Marcos areas.

The most expensive gas averages in the state are to north in Texarkana and Dallas.

Scooter driver dies in San Marcos crash

A man riding a scooter in San Marcos died in a collision with a SUV Wednesday.

Police say Charles O'Dell, 75, was on Hopkins near North Street around 4:15 p.m when a Dodge Durango turned left in front of him.  O'Dell hit the SUV and was knocked off the scooter.

Police: San Marcos toddler illegally taken to Mexico

A Central Texas father has taken his two-year-old daughter across the border to Mexico in violation of a court order, according to San Marcos police.

Armando Munoz Garcia, 44, picked up his daughter, Sarahi for visitation on Jan. 15 from his ex-wife, Monica Sanchez, in the parking lot of the Eternal Rock Church on SH 123 in San Marcos.
