Same-Sex Couples Continue Marriage Fight

Voters in California narrowly approved Proposition 8, a constitutional amendment restricting marriage to heterosexual couples.

California was one of the few states where gay couples could marry legally. Same sex partners now are turning to the courts, hoping to restore that right.

Apple to oppose anti-gay marriage ballot question

But in Bakersfield, many support the county clerk's decision to stop performing all marriage ceremonies.

Elderly Couple Among First Gay Marriages in Calif.

In California, two elderly women were one of the first same-sex couples to marry in the state. Their marriage begins a busy week for county registrars around the Golden State.

The state's Supreme Court decision legalizing same-sex marriage took effect Monday.
