I had a blast sitting down with Tim League of the Alamo Drafthouse to talk about Austin Pictures recently.

 Tim and the Alamo have simply transformed and, indeed, come to help define, the cultural landscape of Austin.

 They helped us greatly for GFA last summer when they brought out their Rolling Roadshow and Master Pancake Theater to the Long Center city terrace following the LAGQ show.

Austin Goes Classical was the biggest classical guitar festival ever, and it happened this past June right here in Austin at the Long Center.

Folks came out from 25 countries, Austin's Mayor and the UT System Chancellor were both MCs, there was a youth orchestra with 200 kids premiering a new piece by Austin's Graham Reynolds, the Austin Symphony played, the Biscuit Brothers entertained, Master Pancake heckled with the Alamo's Rolling Roadshow and, of course, the greatest classical players in the world plucked.

Check it out folks, the Alamo Drafthouse is kicking off their Summer 2009 Rolling Roadshow with a special 35mm screening of Pee-Wee's Big Adventure!

Not only are they showing the movie, they're going to have a ride beforehand.
