Thursday night bicycle ride to benefit Riverboat Gambler

Planning Ahead, Austin  Tue, 11/17/2009 - 6:15pm

Since its launch in March, the Thursday Night Social Ride — a weekly casual bicycle ride in central Austin that generally finishes at an area bar — has grown into a force to be reckoned with.

This week the ride’s organizers are mobilizing the event’s hundreds of cyclists to help out an Austin musician in need: the Riverboat Gamblers’ Ian MacDougall.

Ian Mcdougall, guitarist for Riverboat Gamblers, was struck by a car while riding his bike last weekend.

His injuries include "a broken hip, a broken wrist and hemorrhaging under the skull along with many lacerations, torn ligaments, bruises and and scrapes." He remains at Brackenridge undergoing a barrage of tests and physical therapy.

The hospital bills are piling up and his band mates have created a Tumblr dedicated to raising money. Donate here.

Event: Rise Against with Rancid and Billy Talent at Stubb's Bar-...

Planning Ahead, Austin  Wed, 03/04/2009 - 11:13am

We are more than pleased to announce that we will have the honor of touring the US & Canada with punk rock legends RANCID this summer.

If Tim Armstrong didn't confirm it personally backstage in LA a few weeks ago, we wouldn't believe it either.

We're happy to announce that the Riverboat Gamblers will be opening the first half of the tour towing along their new record, and our esteemed friends, the mighty Billy Talent, will be opening the second half.

See you there.
