Wednesday is the last day for homebuyers to close escrow if they want to get the $8,000 tax credit. But a national Realtors group says as many as 180,000 people may not make it because of various delays.
Now there's a bill working its way through Congress that could provide a reprieve.

Pete the Moose is staying put. Vermont officials had ordered the animal off a game preserve near Canada. There was even talk of destroying the moose.
People came to big Pete's defense on a website, a Facebook page and at a statehouse rally. Lawmakers decided Pete can stay.

Forgetful significant others get a reprieve from Facebook, which just introduced way to get reminded when it's your anniversary.

When Bolinas, Calif., nearly ran out of water, the town came up with a plan — cut household usage to 150 gallons per day, half the average U.S. home use.
The whole town pitched in, including the kids. Late rains saved the water supply, but it was only a reprieve.
