According to the latest Rasmussen poll, he’s only got a five-point lead in his home state:
John McCain’s lead over Barack Obama is down to just five points in his home state of Arizona.
The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in the state finds the Senator leading 51% to 46%.

Obama - 51% McCain - 45%
No change today, and with Obama leading by 5 or 6 points in the past 6 days, the race seems to be stabilizing…at least for now.
Also, it appears as if the scary Obama caricature the right-wing painted may have really hurt them because the Obama voters saw at the debate is vastly different than the one they heard about.

Obama adds one in the “with leaners” numbers, but can he reach 50%?
Or will McCain overtake him after the Republican National Convention?

Looks like Obama is getting some of his mojo back after a slight dip last week.
Or could this be fallout from Phil Gramm’s gaffe and McCain’s clumsy move away from his top economic advisors?

Absolutely no movement today.
Of note, these numbers include “leaners”, and without them Obama leads by 5.

According to current Rasmussen Reports, polls show that John McCain would have a slight edge over Democratic candidates in a general election.
It seems as if the negative exposure Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton have received because of their constant, incestuous bickering has caused the Democrats to be left with two exposed, very beatable candidates.
