The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority plans to add two lanes to MoPac between Lady Bird Lake and Parmer Lane.  The cool part of the plan is that it intends to use dynamic congestion pricing -- i.e., the toll will fluctuate as necessary to keep traffic in the the tolled lanes flowing at 50 mph.

  The six existing lanes will remain free.

A few Cave Swallows, including the ones under the Parmer Lane bridge, stay in central Texas all year long. (via Birding on Broadmeade)

I was pleased to see about 45 Cave Swallows. They must have roosted under the Parmer Lane bridge (via Birding on Broadmeade)

On Thanksgiving Day last year, Mary Taylor's husband Nelson and her 20 year old daughter Andrea were killed in a collision at the intersection of Parmer Lane and Texas 130.

This Thanksgiving, their seats at the dinner table were empty.
