This is the first year the festival is offering advanced ticket sales. All screenings will take place at the Paramount Theatre's website.

Of course there are certain screenings where advanced tickets won't be offered at all.

Outlaw country pioneer Billy Joe Shaver, honky-tonk legend Joe Ely and Americana singer-songwriter Slaid Cleaves will be performing at the Paramount Theatre Feb. 12, according to Shaver’s publicist.

The show hasn’t yet been added to the Paramount’s Web site, but tickets should go on sale there soon.

Want to talk bikes with David Byrne?  While he is known primarily for his music, Byrne has been a cycling advocate since the early 80’s.

 At the Paramount, see him participate in Where We’re Going And Where We’ve Been: Bicycles, Cities, and Transportation in Austin.

 The Austin Public Library Friends Foundations presents a panel discussion with David Byrne, Rob D’Amico, Annick Beaudet, and Jana McCann.

Iron and Wine (led by Austinite, Sam Beam, pictured) plays a sold-out show at The Paramount Theatre downtown with Glen Hansard (The Frames, Swell Season).

The two songwriters will no doubt give a hauntingly unique folk performance, and all the show will benefit the Midwives Alliance of North America.

Their newest album, Around The Well, is one of my year’s favorites. The show will start promptly at 8pm.
