Officer Gutierez from APD presented on Neighborhood Watch and home security.
He is the representative for the Central West Area Command, District 3. District 3 encompasses the region from 183 to 2222 and Mopac to I-35, which contains 8 neighborhoods including Crestview.
There are 8-10 officers assigned to patrol the entire Central West Area Command, which includes three other districts besides District 3.

The North Central Austin Candidate Forum, sponsored by the Allandale, Brentwood, Crestview, Highland, North Shoal Creek, and Wooten neighborhood associations, is the day after Easter, Monday April 13, from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM, Wozniak Hall, St Louis Catholic Church, 7601 Burnet Rd.
The neighborhoods identified city planning as a unifying theme of the forum.
Candidates will be asked detailed questions on how to plan for and fund the land use and transportation changes in North Central Austin required to support tens of thousands of new residents in the coming years.

Allow me to present the SNAustin.org mayoral forum, with these humdingers:
1. This video shows you successful VMU projects and how nice their open spaces are and then says we need rules to make sure VMU developments provide enough open space.
Wouldn't it be smarter to show some that didn't provide enough open space, if any such existed? Maybe they couldn't find any, because I can't think of any that do that bad a job.

ELECTION DAY IS COMING - GO TO A FORUM!
Here's a quick Update about the upcoming Mayor and City Council election.
First, early voting runs from April 27th to May 5th, and Election Day is May 9th.
While RG4N will not be holding a forum this year, and will not be endorsing any candidates, we do strongly encourage you to attend a forum (see full schedule below), to ask the candidates tough questions, and to vote.

Our neighborhood, together with Allandale, Brentwood, Highland, North Shoal Creek, and Wooten, is sponsoring a forum for City Council candidates on Monday April 13.
Our 6 neighborhoods have joined together because we feel there are pressing issues impacting all of North Central Austin that need to be addressed by the City.
We need your help to formulate good questions on the following topics of common concern:

Bring your crushed cans in a plastic bag, and drop them off at either the Zinger's or Northcross Drive event tents.

Crestview and Allandale have been working together on 2 fronts now.
1) Crestview is supporting Allandale's lawsuit to fight big box at northcross with donations to their lawsuit fund.
2) Crestview is supporting Allandale's attempt to stop a developer from changing the agreed to VMU development options located at Burnet Road and North Loop (Antique Mall area) with a signed letter of support.
