Still, why is he contesting the above ballot?

Three weeks after Election Day, Minnesota is finally getting around to figuring out who their next Senator will be:

PAUL, Minn. (AP) - The largest-ever recount in Minnesota history has more than just voters in the state biting their nails.

An army of election workers was to begin a statewide recount Wednesday of more than 2.9 million ballots to determine a winner between Republican Sen.

Norm Coleman and Democrat Al Franken.

A tight Senate race from last week is getting even tighter. The latest numbers from Minnesota indicate incumbent Republican Norm Coleman is ahead of Democratic challenger Al Franken by slightly more than 200 votes.

Franken talks with Renee Montagne about the narrow margin, which triggers an automatic recount next week.

There’ another update from the Minnesota Secretary State, and, yet again, Norm Coleman’s lead over Al Franken has shrunk:

PAUL, Minn. (AP) — The margin in Minnesota’s unresolved Senate race between Republican Norm Coleman and Democrat Al Franken has gotten tighter.

The latest figures reported to the secretary of state give incumbent Coleman a lead over Franken of only 204 votes Monday morning.

The race between Norm Coleman and Al Franken, which has Coleman in the lead by about 600 votes, went LATE into the night (hence the picture above), but was called earlier this morning for Coleman.



 

Frum To GOP: Give Up On McCain Before It’s Too Late

Is it so over that the GOP should now focus less on winning the presidency and more on making sure they don’t get neutered with a Dem supermajority?

Sen. Norm Coleman is facing challenges from comedian-turned-Democratic politician Al Franken and third-party candidate Dean Barkley.

Both are attacking the GOP incumbent for supporting the $700 billion bailout — calling it a hurried decision that makes citizens pay for bad government.
