High energy prices have started to put a dent in corporate profits. But surprisingly, one industry that relies heavily on oil has not been hurt: the railroads.
Most of the nation's top railroad companies have chugged along with strong sales and earnings increases in 2008, their results stoked by rising demand for transporting food and coal.

There's no question about it, a new breed of speculator is pouring money into the oil market and helping drive prices to record levels.
What's less certain is if this new money is essential to a healthy market.

The new $5 bills continue to confuse many Parking and Transportation Services cash machines on campus. UT has 10 parking garage cash machines on campus, but only the three, located in the San Jacinto garage, can accept the new currency, said PTS Garages Manager Dennis Delaney.
